SEAPORT:
Macau is located at the southern part of China, approx. 64 km away
from Hong Kong and 113 km from Canton (Guangzhou) China.
It is not a deep-sea port which can accommodate ocean vessel to
berth. Therefore, all import and export cargoes must be transshipped
via Hong Kong by feeders which are operational daily to meet the
market requirements.
Presently, there are 2 major feeder companies providing such service,
the operations of which are containerized with both FCL and LCL
shipments accepted.
Export cargoes are being forwarded to Hong Kong cargo terminal for
loading on intended shipping lines under the handling and care of
their Macau Agents who are responsible for the follow-up proceedings
and transshipment licence formality, until shipments having been
aboard on the booked ocean vessels.
B/L issued by ship's Macau Agents covers the whole voyage (starting
from Macau until overseas port of discharge) and is termed "Through
Bill of Lading".
